The 3 Most Hockey Songs This Week

Here's a new feature. Lyrics that just ooze hockey in them. That's what were looking for. And nothing obvious like Zambonis or Tragically Hip.

So here's this segment's debut.

The Killers
"Read My Mind"
Sam's Town

On the corner of main street
Just tryin' to keep it in line
You say you wanna move on and
You say I'm falling behind

Can you read my mind?
Can you read my mind?

I never really gave up on
Breakin' out of this two-star town
I got the green light
I got a little fight
I'm gonna turn this thing around

Can you read my mind?
Can you read my mind?

The good old days, the honest man;
The restless heart, the Promised Land
A subtle kiss that no one sees;
A broken wrist and a big trapeze

Oh well I don't mind, you don't mind
Cause I don't shine if you don't shine
Before you go, can you read my mind?

It’s funny how you just break down
Waitin' on some sign
I pull up to the front of your driveway
With magic soakin' my spine

Can you read my mind?
Can you read my mind?

The teenage queen, the loaded gun;
The drop dead dream, the Chosen One
A southern drawl, a world unseen;
A city wall and a trampoline

Oh well I don't mind, you don't mind
Cause I don't shine if you don't shine
Before you go
Tell me what you find when you read my mind

Slippin’ in my faith until I fall
You never returned that call
Woman, open the door, don't let it sting
I wanna breathe that fire again

She said
Oh well I don't mind, you don't mind
Cause I don't shine if you don't shine

Put your back on me
Put your back on me
Put your back on me

The stars are blazing like rebel diamonds cut out of the sun
When you read my mind

Here's #2

Incubus
"Light Grenades"
Light Grenades

We're Given a garden
We gave back a parking lot.
(We got about 15 minutes to go!)

Before this audience

Starts throwing tomatoes, yeah.
(It's not the end, there is more show,
We got about 15 minutes to go!)

Survived the plague, floated the flood

Just kept our heads above the mud.
No one's immune, deafening bells
Oh my God, will we survive, ourselves?

I'm not an alarmist

but someone should break the glass.
(And pull that red T-lever down!).
To get their attention

Start lobbing the light grenades.
(That burst and blind them with the truth,
eye for an eye, a tooth for tooth!)

Survived the plague, floated the flood
just kept our heads above the mud.
No one's immune, deafening bells
Oh my God, will we survive (Ourselves?)

Survived the plague, floated the flood

just kept our heads above the mud.
Wipe off your face, we come this far,
C'mon remember who you are!

Number 3

Television
"See No Evil"
Marquee Moon

What I want
I want now
and it's a whole lot more
than 'anyhow'
I want to fly
fly a fountain
I want to jumpjumpjump
jump a mountain

lunderstandall... iseeno...
destructiveurges... iseeno...
itseemssoperfect... iseenoo
...i see... i see no... i see no evil

I get ideas
I get a notion
I want a nice little boat
made out of ocean.

I get your point.
You're so sharp.
Getting good reactions
with your ''BeBo'' talk.

Don't say unconscious
No don't say doom.
If you got to say it
let me leave this room
Cuz what I want
I want now
and it's a whole lot more
than 'anyhow.'

I'm runnin wild with the one i love
I see no evil
I'm runnin wild with the one-eyed ones
I see no evil
Pull down the future with the one you love
Pull down the future
