Rangers swap Hall for Dupuis

Basically, this is a nothing deal. One support player for another. Adam Hall just never distinguished himself here after coming back from Nashville in the unpopular three-team trade which sent Dominic Moore to playoff-bound Pittsburgh. Pascal Dupuis isn't a bad player. He is more gritty and has decent speed. A few years ago, he was a big part of the Wild's run to the Conference Finals before they were swept by Anaheim. But really, what are we talking about here? Nothing that's going to change the dynamic of the Rangers. They're still six out and fading fast as everyone else around them picks up two points. And what's more:

I was going thru the archive from this site and came across a post back in December when believe it or not, this team led the Atlantic with 40 points- one better than the Devils and three more than the Islanders. So, what does that tell you? Since that point, they've managed just 15 points and fallen 19 behind New Jersey and trail the Fishsticks by four.

I guess it speaks to how disappointing this season has been.

And with that, here comes another loss tonight to eighth place Tampa which will pretty much finish them off.
