Devils Win

I actually thought it was a lot of fun. Great amount of speed and pace, while there were some penalities to be sure, it never quite slowed down how good this one was.

Do not mistake the stat sheets in this one, Marty did play well in the 2nd and 3rd, including a fantastic glove save in the final stanza.

Jamie Langenbrunner and Jay Pandolfo scored for the Devs. Jamie is well on his way to a career high in goals (23 in 97-98 with Dallas) with his 18th of the year, and quite possibly a career high in points (55 in the '03 Cup Year) after getting #40 of the season tonight. For Jay, goal #8, puts him well on the way for his 4th double-digit goal season.

Right now, one would figure that NJ will have at least 4 20 goal scorers (Elias, Langs, Gio and Zach) and possibly a 5th if Gomer were to go on a tear the last 2 months.

The trivia question: When was the last year the Devils had 4 20-goal scorers? The 01-02 team, which had 5 20-goalers (Elias, Niewendyk, Holik, Sykora, and Arnott)

See you all tomorrow. The Devils continue their homestand with a nationally televised game on Sunday vs. Tampa. More info on where you can watch that on Saturday.
