Isles Sign Andy Sutton

Finally, the Isles have signed a D man. Three years, 9 million. Not a bad signing. At three million per year, Garth may be able to afford one more decent player under the cap. Markov maybe? Eklund seems to think so.

Sutton brings tenacity and toughness to the Isles' back line. He doesn't score much, but will keep the opponent honest and protect Ricky. He uses his body and blocks lots of shots.

I feel sorry for Isles fans. Sutton is a pretty bad signing. He's pretty much, well, terrible at defense. He can block shots, but, well, that's about it. He can't move to save his own butt.

Good signing if you were going for toughness. Him and Witt are a tough couple of d-men. If you're expecting any kind of offense though, it's not going to work out too well.
